To improve our members' own perceived mental health, through connection, kindness, and empathy. The sharing of each of our members' lived experiences with one another, shows us all that we are not alone in what we are going through, this connection that is felt through this is a truly powerful experience. In fact, it heals.
To live in a place in which lived experience and mental health peer support groups are valued and are available in our province and to all areas of our city.
We believe each individual has the right to self-determine their own approach to their wellness and recovery and learn from their peers what they will. Take what works for you and leave the rest. It is your choice, as it is your life.
We value your lived experience. We trust that you do the best you can each day and that we are all peers who make mistakes, not perfect people. Mistakes happen even with the best intentions and that is more than okay. It’s about learning. We carry ourselves with honesty, integrity, and openness in our relationships with our participants.
We aim to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and we believe in social justice and equality and advocating against oppression and racism, as we strive for inclusion in our groups.
We value people and embrace diverse experiences related to race, religion, spirituality ethnicity, gender identity, age, class, income, sexual identity, disability, geographic location, and life experiences.
We value that just because talking about mental illness can be hard, it doesn’t have to be all hard. It is okay to laugh. Heck, we highly recommend it! We do!
